Dale Brown, age 62 of Constantine passed away Tuesday, January 6th, 2009 at the Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was born in Coldwater, MI on June 25, 1946, the son of William and Charlotte (Sours) Brown. On February 27, 1970 he married Marjorie Shirk in Coldwater. Dale worked as a roll setter at Simplex paper company in Constantine from 1972 to 2001. He enjoyed reading the Bible, fishing and working on cars and with wood. Surviving are his wife Marjorie Brown, Constantine, daughters Julie Long, Litchfield, Teresa (Robert) Johnson, Mendon, Brenda Brown, Constantine, sister Alice Crossgrove, White Pigeon, brothers Richard Brown, Coldwater and Lee Brown, Sturgis, grandchildren Anthony Long, Mickey Long, Robert Dale Long, Zyler Duane Johnson, William Brown and Ashley Fox, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Harlo Bates and sisters Gladys McVicker and Wilma Briggs. Relatives and friends will be received Friday from 12-2 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine where Religious Services will be held 2:00 pm on Friday. Pastor Rudy Grantham will officiate Interment will be in the Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
