IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Christopher G.
Reed
March 7, 1978 – February 2, 2025
Christopher G. Reed, 46, of Constantine, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on March 7, 1978, to Tom and Sally (Miller) Reed.
Chris attended Centreville Public Schools, graduating in 1996. During his junior and senior years, he participated in the Building Trades Program and was actively involved in baseball, football, and wrestling.
Following graduation, Chris began his career with Morton Buildings before transitioning to work on the family farm, where he managed a finishing hog barn and undertook various farming responsibilities. In June 1998, he suffered a life-altering injury in a swimming accident that left him wheelchair-bound. Despite this challenge, Chris displayed remarkable resilience, rediscovering his passion for life and even adapting to continue his love for hunting from a wheelchair. He was deeply blessed by the unwavering support of his family and "my people" throughout the past 26 years.
A devoted member of Moorepark Community Church, Chris found great strength and comfort in his faith. As he grew older, his connection with God deepened through dedicated time spent studying the Bible. He faced the end of his earthly journey with courage and peace, assured of his place in heaven.
Chris was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents Jim and Lena Reed and Loys (Sam) and Helen Miller, Aunt Marsha (Liggett) Reed, as well as his uncles Mick Reed, Jim Reed, and Tim Reed.
He is lovingly remembered by his parents, Tom and Sally Reed; his brothers, Matthew (Marg Schultz) of Minooka, IL, Aaron Reed (Hanna Bence) of Constantine, and Joe and Mandy Reed of Constantine; his nieces, Lydia, Brynlee, and Aylin Reed; his nephews, James, Charlie, and John Reed; and many special cousins.
Visitation will be held at Moorepark Community Church in Three Rivers on Friday, February 7 from 3-7 PM and on Saturday, February 8 from 10-11 AM. Funeral services will follow at the church on Saturday at 11 AM, with Pastor Bud Granger officiating. Burial will be in Calhoun Cemetery.
Memorials can be made to the Moorepark Community Church Building Fund.
Envelopes will be available at the church.
