Charles E. Stevens, age 82

passed away Monday, May 26th, 2008 at his summer home in Scottville, MI. He was born in Marshall, MI on May 7, 1926, a son of the late Roscoe C. and Bernice (Holt) Stevens. Chuck attended school at Battle Creek Central. He served in the U.S. Navy from . On June 20, 1987 he married Josephine Mull in Bristol, IN. Charles worked as a Carpenter and also for the Eaton Corp. in Battle Creek. Charles was owner operator of Peaceful Valley A.F.C. in Plainwell from 1987 to 1993 and the Dear Country A.F.C. in Burr Oak from 1995 to present. He was a Life member of the Sturgis VFW, and former member of the Masonic Lodge in Battle Creek.
Surviving are his wife Jo Stevens, Burr Oak, son Sgt. Tyrel Schodowski, Burr Oak, daughters Patsy Billings, Burr Oak, Casey Currier, N ottawa, sons George Wolfinger, Nottawa, James Wolfinger, Nottawa, Charles Stevens Jr., Burr Oak, sisters Marjorie Stevens, Battle Creek, Arlene Wight, Sun City, FL, brothers Ray Stevens, Burr Oak, Robert Stevens, Battle Creek, Glen Stevens, Battle Creek, sister in law Myrna Stevens, several grand and great grandchildren, cousin Helen Yates, Battle Creek, several nieces and nephews, and all his extended family at home. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James Stevens.
Cremation has taken place. Graveside Tribute Services will be held at Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI on Friday May 30th at 2:00 pm. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Sturgis V.F.W. .
