Charles E. Hemminger, age 70, of Three Rivers, formerly of Burr Oak and Allegan County, passed away March 17, 2018 at Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. Chuck was born in South Bend, IN on October 25, 1947, a son of Alfred and Dorothy (Dittman) Hemminger. He attended Plainwell Public Schools. In June of 1989, he married Sally Penny Edwards; she preceded him in death in August of 1989. Chuck worked for Merco Meat Packing in Plainwell for 25 years. He attended Riverside Clubhouse and Sturgis Nazarene Church. He enjoyed driving his Gator to Burr Oak and looked forward to vacations and yearly trips with his caregivers Jo and Chuck Stevens.

Chuck is survived by siblings Ruth (Tom) Spross of Shelbyville, Rose (Richard) of Shelbyville, Richard (Tammy) Hemminger of Florida, and Alfred "Butch" Hemminger of Otsego and former caregivers and friends Jo Stevens of Centreville and George Wolfinger of Nottawa. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings Nora Bower and Dean Hemminger, 3 infant siblings, and nephews Robert Allen Leslie, Jr.

Cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be on Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 AM at Eley Funeral Home, Constantine, followed by interment in Constantine Cemetery. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.eleyfuneralhomes.com.
