Charles Dean Freimund, 82, Union, passed away August 24, 2021 at Elkhart General Hospital. Charles was born in Union on February 14, 1939, son of Clinton and Alice (Collins) Freimund. He attended Cassopolis Schools. Charles worked at Real Lite Trailers in Cassopolis for 21 years. On August 15, 1987, he married Jean Goode in Elkhart. Charles was a member of the Chapel Hill Missionary Church. He enjoyed going to yard and garage sales, was "Mr. Fix-It", and adored his 1966 Mustang convertible. He doted over his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and loved showing everyone their pictures.

Surviving are his wife Jean Freimund; daughters Shelly (John) DuBois, Kristine Blair, Jeanna Ewing, and Denise (Mark) Weinberg VerHage; grandchildren Jessica (Matthew) Palardy, Nicole DuBois, Shannon Blair, Caitlin (Jr.) Salas, Jacob Blair, Nick (Destiny) Blair, and Samuel, Zachary, and Jeremy VerHage; great grandchildren Anna, Kase, Dawson, and Reid; and sister Helen (Jon) Naleid.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Richard Freimund, sister Marjorie Harding, son-in-law Jeff Blair, and grandson Gavin Ewing.

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Chapel Hill Missionary Church (14525 Chapel Hill St, Union, MI 49130). A religious service will be held on Friday, 11 AM at the church with Pastor Jeff Snider officiating. Interment will follow in Plum Grove Cemetery.
