Cathy DeMeyer, age 47 of White Pigeon, passed away Friday, August 15, 2014 at her home surrounded by her family. Cathy was born in Elkhart, IN on May 30, 1967, a daughter of Melvin and Mattie (Yoder) Nissley of Elkhart, IN. She attended Concord High School and graduated from Elkhart Christian Academy in 1986. On August 19, 1989, she married David DeMeyer at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Constantine. Cathy was employed at Walmart, White Pigeon Schools, Troyers, and was a Nurses Aid, but spent most of her time at home taking care of her family. She was a member of the Messiah Lutheran Church and especially loved reading, camping, and boating.



Cathy is survived by her husband; mother; sons David DeMeyer, of Constantine and Nathan DeMeyer, of White Pigeon; sister Tracy Nissley, of Grand Rapids; and brothers Ken (Teresa) Nissley, of Elkhart and Bruce (Celina) Nissley, of Elkhart. She was preceded in death by her father.



Friends and family will be received Wednesday, August 20, 2014 from 4-6 pm at Messiah Lutheran Church with religious services following at 6 pm. Reverend Dennis Smith will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Messiah Lutheran Church or Sturgis Home Health Care & Hospice.
