Carol Jean (Peters) Melville passed away on February 10, 2025, after a brief illness. Carol was born August 13, 1942 in Marquette, MI to Walter and Bernice (Quayle) Peters. Carol attended Bishop Baraga Catholic School in Marquette and graduated in 1960. On October 16,1965 she married Richard Melville in Marquette. They moved to Constantine, where she resided until her death.

In 1980, upon the opening of Constantine Carpet Center she became the bookkeeper and held that position until retirement. In 1986 Carol was elected to the position of Township Clerk of Constantine, which she held until 2000 when she chose to also retire from that position.

Carol enjoyed golfing in the summers at various courses in the area. In the cooler months, you could find her at the bowling alley participating in various leagues. In her downtime, she could be found working on numerous cross-stitch projects. She also enjoyed traveling, gardening and spending time with family.

Carol is survived by her 3 children, daughter Chris (Harvey) Dose, son Gregg (Laura) Melville and daughter Cathy Melville. She was also the proud grandmother of Evan and Alec Dose and Megan and Nicholas Melville. She also leaves behind her sister-in-law, Carole Seymour. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brother-in-law Harold Seymour. Cremation has taken place, there will be no services.
