Bert C. Shirk Sr. Age 55

Died December 23, 2017 at his home. He was born January 26, 1962 in Three Rivers a son of Orville and Irene (Palmer) Shirk Sr. Bert served in the Michigan Army National Guard, SPT Co 1 BN 246 Armor, Three Rivers, as 19D10 Scout from Nov. 1979 to 1985. On March 11, 2017 he married Darlene Grant in Three Rivers.
He worked as a supervisor/manager at Norco Industries for the past 5 years and previously at Leland Engineering for 29 years.
Bert was a member of the St. Joe Valley Old Engine Tractor Association and participated in the Sturgis Toy Run. He enjoyed rebuilding tractors, solitaire and family events.
Surviving are his wife Darlene Shirk, Three Rivers, mother Irene Palmer, Three Rivers, sons Bert Shirk Jr., Three Rivers, Blake (Dawn) Shirk, Three Rivers, daughters Elizabeth (Anthony Nordman) Shirk, Three Rivers, Victoria (Joshua) Shirk, Three Rivers, Rachel (Nick) Leister, Nebraska, brother Bruce (Naomia Clark) Shirk, White Pigeon, sisters Deborah (Mike) Jones, Three Rivers, Marge Brown, Aunt Mary Shirk, Three Rivers, 11 grandchildren, Shania, Katrina, Jasmine, Brookelyn, Breanna, Cadence, Dylan, Nevaeh, Alexander, Isabella, and Derek, nieces and nephew Amber Holtom, Kim Rice and Duane Shirk and his dog Dante.
He was preceded in death by his father Orville Shirk Sr., brother Orville Shirk Jr., sister Emily Gosnell, Laura Shirk, uncle Blake Shirk and mother and father in law Judy and John Grant.
Relatives and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine. Religious services will be held 11 am Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Gary Carr, Corey Church of the Nazarene officiating.
