Bernita M. Alber, age 68, of Three Rivers, passed away Friday, August 22nd, 2008 at her home. She was born in Mendon, on August 16, 1940, a daughter of the late Otis and Emma E. (Rexford) Alber. She had attended Mendon schools. Bernita enjoyed time spent with her family. Surviving are her daughter Christine (Keith Sanford) Featherstone of Three Rivers, son Eric Alber of Three Rivers, grandchildren Carrie (Billy Lowery) O'Connor, Sherry Smithers, Stephanie (Shane Nichols) Smithers, Ricki (Ray Swartz) Smithers, Kimberly (Geoff Hunt) Smithers, Gregory Miller and Jason Westlake, great grandchildren Mercades, Sommer, Ethan, Shane, Michaela, Joshua, Daiten, Mataya, and Meryck, brothers and sisters Aletha Hamminga, Alice Kline, Jackie (Tom) Schmidt, Pat Conolley, David Alber, Dick (Sandy) Alber, Paula (Mike) Ballard and Paul Alber. She was preceded in death by her parents and grandson Dalton Featherstone. Relatives and friends will be received Wednesday from 12 - 2 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Nina Lanctot, Florence Church of the Brethren/Mennonite, will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
