Gene Autry Reiff, Jr., age 56 of Constantine, passed away unexpectedly Monday, April 6th, 2009 at his home. He was born April 13, 1952 in Three Rivers, a son of Gene and Shirley (Eash) Reiff. Gene graduated from Constantine High School in 1971. On December 24, 2001 he married Jackie Girardot in Constantine. Gene worked as a truck driver at Prairie Materials in Constantine and previously for the Village of Constantine for 15 years. He also operated "Anything For A Buck" deer processing. Gene was a member of Three Rivers Eagles Lodge # 2303 and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Gene also served as Santa Claus for area children. Surviving are his father Gene (Sandy Dimmick) Reiff Sr., wife, Jackie Reiff, Constantine, sons Jeremy (Daniela) Reiff, Constantine, Joseph (Molessia) Reiff, Constantine, step-daughter Melissa (Brandon) Howard, Burr Oak, step-son Jimmy Connelly, Constantine, sisters Brenda (Alan) Moore, Middlebury, Diane (Jim) Fisher, Arkansas, brother Roger (Darcy) Reiff, Constantine, grandmother Fannie Holcomb, Bristol, grandchildren Joseph Harley Reiff, Jr., Riley Jeremy Reiff, Faith Natalie Ann Waldron, and godson Troy A. Price. He was preceded in death by his mother Shirley Reiff, and grandparents, Joe Eash and Rueben and Vera Reiff. Relatives and friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where Religious Services will be held at 11:00 am on Friday with Pastor Barry Edds, White Pigeon Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery Constantine. Memorial contributions may be made to Eagles Lodge #2303 or the American Cancer Society.
