Alice L. Johansen, 88 of Constantine, passed away March 15, 2021 at Edgewood Health and Rehabilitation Center in Three Rivers. Alice was born in Constantine on January 2, 1933, a daughter of A. Albert and Ethel (Showalter) Stahly. She graduated from Constantine High School in 1950. On June 2, 1951, she married Arthur Johansen in Angola, IN; he preceded her in death on January 11, 2008.

Alice worked for Kirsch Co. in Sturgis for many years, retiring as an inspector. Alice and Art also operated the wrecker service in Constantine. She was a devoted member of Trinity Missionary Church. Alice was also a member of the St. Joseph Valley Old Engine Club, Meek's Mill Garden Club, and the Campground Gang. She loved to teach crochet in 4H, camping, mushroom hunting and playing cards with the Widow's group. Along with her husband, she managed Mottville Speedway where she raced the Powder Puff circuit in the 60's, and then again in 1985.

Surviving are her children Jodi Johansen of Constantine, Kurt (Mary) Johansen of Sturgis, and Lon (Suzanne) Johansen of Constantine; grandchildren Alicia Johansen, Josh (Hillary) Johansen, Clifton (Jenny) Johansen, Brian Johansen, and Jeffrey (Stacy) Johansen; several great grandchildren; brother Arvid Stahly; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death her parents, husband, and siblings Bonnie Aurand and Dallas Stahly.

According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. Relatives and friends will be received March 27, 2021 from 10 to 11 am at Trinity Missionary Church, with a Memorial service to begin at 11 am. Pastor Terry Neumayer will officiate. Memorial contributions can be given to Trinity Missionary Church.
