Frances M. Hoopingarner, age 87 of Constantine, MI, died  Saturday, January 14th, 2012 at the Heartland Health Care Center in Three Rivers. She was born in Constantine, on April 19, 1924,  a daughter of  Herman and Sadie (Thorn) Skelton. Frances attended Constantine Schools. On June 30, 1967 she married Austin Charles Hoopingarner in Constantine. He preceded her in death April 4, 2000. Frances  worked at Denton Mills Centreville  for 41 years retiring in 1986. Frances is a member of the Constantine United Methodist Church. She was a former member of the St. Joseph Historical Society, and is a member of the Gov. Barry Historical Society. Frances enjoyed crochet, needlework and gardening.
Surviving are her sisters  Eleanor Pashby of Constantine,  Elizabeth  Rentfrow of White Pigeon, brothers William Skelton, Robert Skelton and Herman Skelton, Jr. all of Constantine, sister in law Caralene Skelton of Constantine and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister Lillian Holderman, brother Thomas Skelton and half brothers, Russell, Elwood, and Joseph Skelton.
Relatives and friends will be received Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Eley Funeral Home in Constantine, where services will be held Tuesday at 11 am. with Reverend Marilyn Schlimgen officiating. Interment will be at Constantine Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Methodist Church or Gov. Barry Society. On line messages may be left for the family below.
