About
In 1986 Jim & Pauline Eley came to Centreville for the funeral of Pauline’s uncle. At this time they learned that the Centreville and Constantine funeral homes were both for sale. Having earned his Mortuary Arts & Sciences License in 1960 from Wayne State University, Jim had always wished to own his own funeral home. On July 15, 1986, he and Pauline, along with their son Mike and daughter-in-law Jane, purchased both funeral homes. Together, they began a tradition of serving families with compassion and care.
Jim & Pauline moved from Vicksburg to reside in the Constantine funeral home. Pauline passed away on August 27, 2008, and although retired, Jim continues to reside in Constantine. Mike & Jane have contined running the family business, and have made Centreville their home. It is here that they have raised their three children, Devon, Ryan & Tyler.
At Eley Funeral Homes we understand that everyone is different. It is our goal to treat each family with dignity, and recognize that each individual grieves differently. We strive to provide every family we serve with our best personal service.
The Eley family feels that the people of Centreville and Constantine are extended family, and we have been honored to care for the families in these towns. We are truly a local, family owned funeral home, and we feel blessed to be your neighbors, friends and caregivers.
On August 24, 2012, we welcomed Joshua Fleming, a graduate of Worsham Mortuary College in Chicago, IL, to our staff. Joshua and his wife Danelle come to us from Union City with their two daughters, and are now residing in our Centreville location. Mike and Jane have moved to the Constantine location. Josh and Danelle believe in the family oriented business that we have built and will help us to serve our communities.
